"W I N G S"
The Book of Changes is a work that represents thousands of years of slow organic growth, and that can be assimilated only through prolonged reflection and meditation. And in the course of this, the apparent repetition serves constantly to open up new perspectives. The material presented in the second portion of our translation consists chiefly of what has come to be known as the Ten Wings. These ten wings, or expositions, contain in substance the oldest commentary literatures relating to the Book of Changes. ~ From the Introduction to Part II, Wilhelm/Baynes I Ching, pg. 256.
